Alaska 2024: From Seattle
My parents and I took a cruise from Seattle to Canada and Alaska in July 2024 on the Norwegian Bliss. We spent Fourth of July at our condo in Minneapolis and flew to Seattle the next day. That's Mount Rainier out the window!!!
In Seattle we visited Pikes Place Market on our extra day before boarding.
We took a walk around the area near the ship before boarding
And admired the Norwegian Bliss itself (selfie required). The artist on the bow seems to be WyLand, and it has a painting of a whale. There is a harbor of some yaghts at the stern, and refueling (we think) was underway.
What a sweet view from our balcony!
We went to check out the buffet immediately
And then we sailed away into the sunset.
That's not a UFO, it's a reflection from the lights in the Observation Deck while listening to piano music and watching a herd of whales with a virgin mudslide.
The final photo with the deep sense of peace and secrecy is at one am as we sail toward the north. I kept my balcony door open at first, and listened to the sound of the waves and felt the rocking at night. In some ways, just enjoying the peaceful presence of the water and the open air in the evening and at night was the best part of the cruise. I am a true water-watcher, though few of my endless water photos are included so that I do not bore you.
